I currently have one original set design, the steel strung "Melsasoom", which I can produce using your own choice of woods and can be adapted slightly to suit your individual needs. Click on the links to the right to browse through the galleries. I have previously made the model using predominantly European Spruce & English Flamed Maple and am currently making it using British Yew & Oak.

I also make guitars to commision, both nylon and steel strung, identifying the players' wants in terms of sound, playability and design, and working with the customer to achieve their desires.

Models vary in price depending on specifics, from £1000 to £1500. Please get in touch for a quote. I also take commisions for mandolins, lutes, viols and harps.

Soundboards - Yew
Back & Ribs - Maple/Sycamore, Cherry, Oak, Walnut, Ash, Elm
Fingerboard & Bridge - Maple, Laburnum

Finishes available:

As you can see from the galleries, I don't care so much for convention or the norm when it comes to appearance - I like to create my own designs for the various sections of the instruments. I'm enthusiastic about changing design aspects for people but if asked I wont make a copy of any famous factory model guitars. My instruments are in essence traditional guitars and so therefore they are based on everything that has come before them. However I like originality so the shapes and styles of the instrument are my own and I will change bracing patterns, body depths, plate thicknesses, soundhole diameters and everything accordingly.

Photos and descriptions are all very well really but what's important is the sound of the guitar and how it plays. I imagine that it may not be practical for many people to visit me to try out my guitars, but please feel free to if you can. I will also be attending various craft festivals around the country where musicians will have the opportunity to play them.
